Restaurante El Monarca is a family-owned Mexican restaurant in downtown Emporia. We cook breakfast all day, lunch and dinner plates, tacos, tortas and soups, plus handmade tamales by the piece or by the dozen.

Our name honors the monarch butterfly. Every fall, monarchs pass through Kansas on their long journey to Mexico, a reminder that good things bring people together across any distance. Pull up a chair: at our table, you're family.
